Welcome to the Commons!

Hey, it could happen here!

Fires, tornadoes, acts of terrorism, winter storm power outages . . .
Don't wait for the next emergency to happen - prepare yourself today!
Here are some Disaster Plan Suggestions.

New: Seniors' Day at the Clubhouse

Seniors' Day, a new activity held at the clubhouse, is sponsored by the Playground, Social and Recreation Committee. Every second Monday of every month, the clubhouse will be open to Hampton Commons seniors or almost seniors from age 55+. See: Seniors' Day.

Committee Members Needed

Although there were many people who signed up to attend the holiday parties this past year, there were not quite enough tickets sold to pay for the high cost of having a DJ to provide the entertainment. Apologies to all who were disappointed when the events were cancelled! No more parties will be planned until we get a volunteer or two (or more) to restart the Playground, Social and Recreation Committee and get things rolling again. Hurry and join today, or there will be no clubhouse Halloween party for the kids!

Interested in doing more for your community? Read more about the committees or attend a board meeting and ask questions.

To join the Communications Committee to help with the website or any other committee, please contact the management company.

Hampton Commons has a new flag!

Pet Responsibility

Having a pet in the community involves responsibility.

Please follow these simple rules:

  • All pets must be on a leash when outside your home.
  • Have your pet 'do its business' in the designated areas.
    (Not someone's front lawn!)
  • Pick up all pet waste and dispose of it properly.
(DO NOT throw it in the woods!)
  • Report anyone who does not clean up after their own pet.
    (call  Wilkin Management at (973) 697 -8111)

Remember - a little common courtesy goes a long way!

We live in Bear Country!

  • To discourage bears from visiting Hampton Commons, please keep all food indoors.
  • Garbage and recyclables should be tightly secured in lidded trash cans and put out no earlier than 6:00 PM the night before garbage pick-up is scheduled. It is even better to wait and put it out in the morning.
  • After a barbecue on the deck, clean the grill and bring inside all food.
  • Do not keep any food or used fast-food containers in your car!
  • Bears love bird seed, so please do not hang a bird feeder.
  • The Fish and Game Commission will investigate bear sightings only if the bear threatens a human, attempts to enter a house, or pilfers garbage.
  • If you see a bear, drop any food you are holding and back away slowly from the bear. Stay indoors until the bear leaves.

Parking Guidelines:

  • All commercial vehicles, all vehicles with commercial license plates or lettering, all vehicles larger than a van, and all motor homes are prohibited everywhere within Hampton Commons.
  • No vehicles of any make are to be stored in the common areas.
If your vehicle is stored here for more than 14 days it will be towed, even if you move it from space to space!
  • Street parking is permitted only on the west side of Eagle Drive. Parking on any other street or any lawn is prohibited, as is letting the tail end of your car stick out of the driveway into the street.
  • When it snows, all vehicles must be removed from Eagle Drive in order to facilitate complete plowing of the street. Vehicles left in the street after 8 AM on snow mornings will be towed!
  • To report a violation, contact the management company.
  • If you are in doubt about your own vehicle, please contact the management company. Don't wait for it to be towed and your unit fined. Find another place to park it now!
  • All towing is at owner's expense!
Remember, the State Police are called during the towing process. Don't let this happen to you.

Just moved in?

  • Update your voter registration today!
  • Contact the management company and ask them to notify the Welcoming Committee of your arrival.
  • Be a good neighbor - pick up after your dog! It's not just a good idea; it's one of the Rules and Regulations that make Hampton Commons a nice community for all.
